“NEW PATTERN FOR JEE MAINS-2025”

ALERT

The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main), has announced a key change in the exam pattern for 2025. This adjustment marks a return to the pre-pandemic format, impacting students aspiring to enter top engineering and architecture institutes across India.

Since 2021, the NTA introduced an optional question selection in Section B of each subject for the JEE Main exam. Candidates were allowed to attempt any five questions out of ten, giving them a choice, a move implemented to help students navigate the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. This provision was a temporary measure and has continued until the 2024 edition of the exam.

However, following the World Health Organization’s declaration of the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency in May 2023, the NTA has decided to discontinue this optional selection from 2025. Now, Section B will include only five questions per subject, and students must attempt all five questions without any options for selection. This change applies to JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech), Paper 2A (B.Arch), and Paper 2B (B.Planning).

A detailed pattern of the JEE Main 2025 exam will be provided in the upcoming Information Bulletin. For students preparing for the 2025 exam, it is crucial to be aware of this change and adjust their strategies accordingly.

Keep an eye on the official NTA websites (www.nta.ac.in and https://jeemain.nta.nic.in) for the latest updates and further clarifications regarding JEE Main 2025.
